Definitions

hello ~

   How are doing guys? I hope you all are doing fine and still in a piece, laughing out loud. Usually to know a person or to make friend with somebody, we need to know his or her name. If we dont know his or her name, how can we address him or her next time right?. So, in this entry i am going to share with you guys the definitions of antibiotic resistance. Firstly, lets go with the definitions of antibiotic. Then we proceed to resistance and lastly antibiotic resistance itself. come!


Antibiotic

Any of a large group of chemical substances, as penicilin orstreptomycin, produced by various microorganisms and fungi, having the capacity in dikute solutions to inhibits the growth of or to destroy bacteria and other microorganisms, used chiefly in the treatment of infectious diseases. taken from Dictionary.com

A drug used to treat bacterial infections. Antibiotics have no effect o viral infections. Originally, an antibiotic was a substance produced by one microorganism that selectively inhibits the growth of another. Synthetic antibiotics, usually chemically related to natural antibiotics, have since been produced that accomplish comparable tasks. taken from Medicine.Net.com

Resistance 

The act of fighting againsts something that is attacking you, or refusing to accpet something.taken from Cambridge Dictionaries Online

Refusal to comply with or accept something.taken from Vocabulary.com 

Antibiotic Resistance

Resistance of microbe to an antimicrobial medications that used to be effective in treating or preventing an infection caused by the microbe. Resistance to antibiotic can be caused by 4 main mechanism: 

• The inactivation or modification of the antibiotic
• An alteration in the target site o fthe antibiotic that reduces its binding capacity
• The modification of metabolic pathways to circumvent the antibiotic effect
• The reduced intracellular antibiotic accumulation by decreasing permeability and/or increasing actice efflux of the antibiotic
